"MOM! I don't need to buy underwear with you! I can buy my own, by myself!"
"But Ash, sweetie. I need to make sure they're the right kind! Now come. They're doing a sale!"
And so begins our story with our favorite main characater, Ash Ketchum. Walking through the streets of Cerulean City with his mom probably wasn't the best idea. Especially now since she wants to buy a whole bunch of underwear for her 17 year old son. Delia had found a great store that was had them on sale.
Ash groaned. 'I have to get out of here before anyone notices me.' Ash thought. He managed to slip out of the building without his mom noticing. He did manage to hear her saying "Look! These have cute charmader on them!"
Thank Arceus he left.
Ash had quite a lot of time before his mom would notice he was gone. He began walking around the city, taking in the familiar sights. He also saw that the tinier shops were lavishly decorated with hearts and ballons and ballon hearts. 'Oh yeah,' Ash thought, 'today's Valentine's Day.' He began to wonder about his previous friends that he traveled with and what they were doing today. May came to mind first. May was quite the friend. Her eating abilities, spasms, and needs for shopping made the journey around Hoenn really fun. She was a really good friend, but Ash could never understand why people thought they were a couple. He couldn't like her like that. Besides, anyone could tell she liked Drew. Even Ash.
Remembering that people thought he and May were a couple, he also remembered Dawn. Now THIS he didn't understand. He and Dawn were just friends. No. Like brother and sister! He took care of her like a little sister; he knew her mom was happy about that. But he couldn't see them together. EVER. It disturbed him even to think about it! Anyway, Ash could even tell that she had somewhat of a crush on his rival, Paul. Oh come on. You didn't expect Ash to be THAT oblivious, did you? Everytime that guy came around, Dawn would stare at him. And not the "I-want-to-kill-you" stare. The "OMG-he's so cute" stare. Ash could see out of the corner of his eye.
Ash chuckled to himself and looked up. Noticing the surroundings, Ash smiled. He was standing in front Cerulean Gym, the second home to his best friend. He couldn't believe it's been forever since he last saw her.
Well? Why not pay Misty a visit?
Ash ran inside the building and immediately saw a bunch of guys standing in a crowded circle while shouting. "What's going on?" Ash said to a little girl who was standing there too. She looked up at him increduously. "You really don't know?" she asked. Ash just shook his head. The girl sighed and began to explain. "All of those boys are trying to get Misty, the gym leader, to be their Valentine." Ash looked at the crowd again. "But, nobody has ever wanted to be her valentine before."
The little girl put her hands on her hips and stared at Ash. "You haven't heard, I'm guessing. Misty recently became the newest member of the Sensational Sisters. She's so pretty that this whole month, boys have been trying to get her attention and taking her on dates and whatever." Ash's eyes widened. 'Sensational Sister? But I thought Misty didn't want to be one." As of reading his mind, the girl continued. "She only became a Sensational Sister because Cerulean City needed more tourists. While her sisters would go to other places and perform shows, Misty would stay here, be a gym leader, AND advertise Cerulean City. You didn't see her face on anything on the way here?"
Now that Ash thought about it, he did happen to pass by some ballons with his red-headed friend on them. With all of this chaos, he wanted to really see her now. He just had to find some way to break the crowd.
"All right! Everyone leave. NOW!"
A lot of "Aw man" echoed through the bunch and the boys began leaving. Well, Misty sure made that easier. "Misty!" Ash shouted. She turned around...and frowned. Ash flinched. Even though he wasn't physically hit, that still hurt. She started walking towards him, and Ash just kept staring. Misty's hair now reached her back, wavy and shiny. That white and blue swimsuit she was wearing definitely showed off her curves. When she reached Ash, she placed her hands on her hips.
"Hi Ash. What are you here for?" she said with that frown still on her face. Ash noticed, but didn't care. He tackled his friend in a hug, which definitely caught her by surprise. "I'm here to see my best friend! Misty, I've really missed you." Misty seemed to be taken aback. "Wait, you're not here because I'm a Sensational Sister?" Ash looked straight into those sea-green orbs of hers. "Mist, I didn't even know you were one until today. Is that why you were kind of upset?"
Misty nodded. "I've been getting so much more attention just because I am one. I really don't like it but I love Cerulean City. I would do anything for my hometown." Ash smiled. She might have changed on the outside, but she was still the same sweet caring girl that he lo-
Ash backed away with wide eyes. He..didn't...LOVE Misty...did he?
"Uh, Ash? You alright? Way are you backing away from me?" Misty started to follow him, but he just continued. She suddenly sprinted after him, which really caught him off guard, and pinned him to the ground. "Ash, what the heck?! What are you running away from?!"
"You!" Ash tried flailing, but Misty still held on. "I-I can't be near you! Let go!" What the heck is wrong with him? she wondered. Ash finally calmed down, but didn't dare look Misty in the eyes. How would she act if he told her? Wouldn't she think I'm like those other guys?
Abruptly, Misty let go. Ash looked up at her instantly and felt something against his lips.
Didn't see that coming.
It wasn't a long kiss, but it was the most sensational feeling ever. Even better than winning the Pokemon League. Misty broke the kiss and smiled at him.
"I'm guessing that you've been feeling how I feel?"
How did she know?! What, is this some kind superpower females have?! Wait.
"How you feel? So, you lo-lo-" Misty answered his rambling with another kiss, quite longer than last time. "Does that answer your question?" Ash could only mumble a yes and met Misty's soft lips once again.
Best. Valentine's. Day. Ever.
